— Our story
Our Story.
Operating from the heart of Thembalethu Township in George, the Inkcubeko Youth and Science Centre — EIK’s flagship delivery centre — has been serving the community since 2019. It sits within 2.5km of eight schools, operates as a walk-in facility with no appointment required, and has never experienced a break-in or theft. That last fact is a measure of community ownership, not security.
In 2025, EIK expanded its reach to Blue Downs in Cape Town — launching an outreach pilot across three partner schools and delivering the 2026 Autumn School programme to 265 learners. A permanent Blue Downs centre is under active feasibility evaluation.
OUR VISION
A South Africa where every young innovator has access to transformative STEM learning opportunities — empowered to break the cycle of poverty.
OUR MISSION
To design, fund and grow credible STEM education pathways through strategic partnerships, evidence-based programmes and long-term institutional collaboration.
OUR MOTTO
"Developing the Leaders of Tomorrow, by Empowering the Youth of Today."
- What we stand for
Our five core values.
01
Credibility
We value precision, accountability and institutional trust. Every programme, partnership and outcome must be measurable, transparent and professionally delivered. Credibility is the foundation that enables long-term impact.
02
Human-Centred Learning
We believe education should be designed around people, not systems. Learning environments should be relevant, accessible and responsive to the realities of South African learners and communities.
03
Progress Through Knowledge
We see knowledge as a catalyst for opportunity and transformation. STEM education is not only academic — it is a pathway toward economic mobility, innovation and future leadership.
04
Collaboration
Meaningful impact is built through partnership. We work across institutions, communities, government and industry to create connected systems that strengthen educational outcomes collectively rather than independently.
05
Purposeful Innovation
Innovation should solve real problems with clarity and intention. We value thoughtful, evidence-based approaches that combine creativity with measurable effectiveness — avoiding noise, excess and performative impact.
- Leadership
The people behind EIK.
